Detroit Public TV is proud to partner with the Knight Foundation for the second year in providing the live-stream of the Knight Media Forum, two informative and inspiring days of deep discussion and provocative debate on the future of journalism and its importance to the American democracy.
The Knight Media Forum is widely recognized as the most important annual gathering of journalists, funders, information theorists and others passionately concerned about the health of the news media in this country.
Detroit Public TV will live-stream the conference on February 25-26 and provide the stream to organizations concerned with the future of news and its impact on our democracy.
Anchoring the coverage was Emmy-winning journalist, Hari Sreenivasan, host of “PBS NewsHour Weekend” and the national public television show “SciTech Now.”

Detroit Public Television is proud to once again, partner with Sphinx on the competition, the conference and throughout the year.
The Sphinx Organization focuses on transforming lives through the power of diversity in the arts; as part of that mission, the organization presented a national convention on inclusion and diversity in the arts, SphinxConnect and the culmination of this weekend’s events is the 23rd Annual Sphinx Finals Competition Concert with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra.
The Sphinx Competition offers young Black and Latinx classical string players a chance to compete under the guidance of an internationally renowned panel of judges and to perform with established professional musicians in a competition setting.

The Detroit Economic Club presents a conversation with Vice President of the United States of America, Mike Pence. It will be streamed live from the Westin Book Cadillac by Detroit Public TV on Monday, August 19 Livestream begins at 11:45 a.m. and the program will begin shortly thereafter and will conclude at 12:30 p.m. ET.
Michael R. Pence was born in Columbus, Indiana, one of six children born to Edward and Nancy Pence, who ran a successful convenience store business. He says that they taught him the importance of hard work, faith and family.

Michigan’s University Research Corridor (URC) embarked on a six-stop Infrastructure Innovation Tour over nine months in 2018 and 2019 for the purpose of generating conversations about infrastructure needs, promote innovation, and foster future collaboration. The issues were identified in the report Foundation for the Future: URC Contributions to Infrastructure Improvement presented by the URC in spring 2018. Expert teams gathered at each tour stop to discuss issues and opportunities related to infrastructure challenges in water, mobility, energy, and communications.
